When Tesoro High School sophomore Brad Montgomery picked up a flier for Taste of Ladera in a local restaurant, he jumped on the Internet to go to TasteofLadera.com to see what bands might be playing this year. But to his dismay, a message on the site said that the event had been postponed. After a little asking around, Brad learned that LARCS had not approved the Taste of Ladera at Founder's Park. "I've been going for 5 years now, and all my most favorite years were at Founder's Park," said Montgomery. Montgomery talked with friend Taylor Parrino, a sophomore at Capo Valley and they decided to set up the "Bring Back the Taste of Ladera" facebook group and schedule an event for the same day as the original Taste. "I have over 1000 facebook friends and I sent it to them," said Parrino. "And Brad sent it to his friends too, and it just grew." Ladera Ranch resident Dave Watson posted on the event page, "I don't think that this is a good idea." and followed it up with reasons that got Montgomery and Parrino to thinking, such as the 20 or so Little League games planned and several birthday parties. "I don't want us to look rebellious," said Montgomery. "I want to go about things the right way." Montgomery has posted a cancellation notice to the group, but plans to keep it alive and change the date to reflect the next planned Taste of Ladera when it can be announced.
