No one wants to be the bad guy or the old guy yelling at the kids to "get off their lawn". If it bothers you that much and they are hitting your garage that hard, a nice conversation with the kids and/or the parents would go a long way.

Has anyone found a solution for balls being batted around in what they call "Alley Loaded Houses" and the garage door is being banged?
Does anyone else have this problem, specifically, with the basketball hoops in these areas and the ball having very little space to travel hits the neighbors garage door?
Please let me know if this is a concern of yours, and your property is being slammed!
