Tonight was the LARCS election for two board seats. Incumbent Craig Duerr was defeated in his re-election attempt and last year's resident choice, Carol McCormick was elected, along with "Grand Prix of Ladera" organizer Ryan Miller.
Lisa Christian directed the developer's votes (accounting for 17% of all possible votes) in a way that allowed the residents to decide the election.

 Memorial tiles at Terramor
Did you know that there are fish in the Terramor Aquatic Park in Ladera Ranch and laser guided robots roaming the pools at night?
The Terramor Aquatic Park was specifically designed to provide children with aquatic adventures, not just a place to get wet. This was the inspiration of Don Stahlin, who served as Vice President of Community Planning for the Rancho Mission Viejo Company, the developers of Ladera Ranch. In a tribute to Don, who sadly didn’t live to see the opening of the park, colorful tile fish adorn the edges of the water. The initials DTS are part of each tile design – a nod to Don T. Stahlin, whose nickname since childhood was “Fish”. Don’s legacy lives on and the Terramor Aquatic Park provides an incredible, unique adventure for the Ladera Ranch children who visit and play there.
Robot and Steve with AquaBlue Co. Not only are Ladera Ranch’s 12 pools, 4 water play areas, 2 wader pools and Aquatic Park each unique in their aesthetics, they also utilize state-of-the-art technology. Chemical automation continuously monitors water quality and slowly distributes chlorine and acid throughout the day as needed. High-rate sand filters work non-stop to screen out unwanted bacteria and particles without the need for chemicals such as diatomaceous earth. The filters are environmentally friendly and cost effective in that the sand never needs to be replaced. Many residents may not be aware that laser-guided robots filter and vacuum the bottom of all of Ladera Ranch’s pools while the community sleeps. With so many large pools to maintain, this fleet of robots working at night provided the perfect alternative to having numerous crews using traditional vacuums for hours in the pools each evening.
